Our concept is simple: We help people to grow their on-line presence

Gest8 is a business born out years of experience in developing software and web applications. This experience has taught us one valuable lesson above all others - however well you get to know technology, in the end it’s all about people.

Whatever the purpose of any development, it’s built by people, for people. Seems obvious, doesn't it? Amazing, then, that so many 'digerati' appear to forget.

So with this in mind we rely on close partnership with our customers to run our business and we’re very open about our work. We're people working with other people, not a group of technocrats looking for the 'next big thing'.

About the Founders

Dave Cockbain

Dave has a background in print, advertising, publishing and digital imaging. Over the last 12 years he has designed/developed on-line environments for some of the world’s largest corporate organisations.

In his first on-line role he led the development of The Times and The Sunday Times websites, launched in 1995. Since then Dave has worked at senior level for Associated Newspapers, Citigroup and as Research & Development Director at Silicon.com before becoming a founding Director of Gest8.

Quentin Dewhurst

Quentin is a highly skilled Open Source web developer who also has years of experience in Human Computer Interface design, SEO/SEM and Project Management in the IT field.

His career with computers began in the early 90's with numerous contracting jobs in blue-chip companies. In 2001 he graduated from the University of Westminster with a 1st Class Honours Bachelors Degree in Multimedia Computing. He returned to full-time employment as Lead Developer in Dave's development team at Silicon.com prior to becoming a founding Director of Gest8.

Anthony Forshaw

Anthony has been programming computers since his early secondary school days, and professionally for 20 years.

Having worked for many blue-chip companies in finance, healthcare, travel & tourism and hospitality, Anthony has a broad understanding of many sectors and the methods used to create cost-effective solutions for small to enterprise level businesses.

Being a keen gamer, Anthony makes use of his gaming knowledge to contribute to writing Flash games and has been involved in the production of several addictive web-based games.
